Hello.
I am a writer, stylist and consultant whose work deals with the intersections of sustainability and the fashion landscape. My work builds heavily on ideas behind privilege, wealth inequality, racism, feminism, colonialism and how to fix the fashion industry with all these things in mind. I also like your dog, 99.9% of the time.
What I do.
Writing
I have authored my first book ‘Consumed’ and it’s available for pre-order now. In addition I have written for Eco-Age, The Guardian, CNN, Selfridges and a host of other sites but focus mainly on the daily microblogs I publish on Instagram and the daily posts I create exclusively on Patreon.
What I’m saying.
You're right. It is confusing. All of it. Growing up with different levels of privilege means that it's impossible for us to know some of these things ... until we screw it up. The shock that comes with the realization of knowing much of what we grew up learning about others might just happen to be ... well, wrong.
I'm here to help. I highlight inequality at the personal, societal and corporate level, using my own experience and key observations within my personal touch points - and my favourite playground, fashion. What I am good at is identifying the beliefs, institutional structures and corporate blind spots that hold inequality in place. And then suggesting ways to change that.
Consulting
Have a project big or small? Need a keen eye for sustainability and all its intersections? Don't understand fatphobia or colonialism and its ties to the fashion industry? I can lead a session with your team where they learn about the issues big and small.
Speaking
I have spoken at events for Sydney Opera House, the V&A Museum, Study Hall Central Saint Martins, Cambridge Student Union and Riposte Magazine. I have also contributed to a range of broadcasts and podcasts including the BBC Radio 4 Women's Hour and Layla Saad's The Good Ancestor podcast.
Modelling
I’ve been featured in a variety of campaigns from Vestiaire Collective to eBay/Oxfam and Phoebe English. Size inclusion on the runway and in campaigns sends an important message that a better fashion industry is for EVERY BODY.
